just the C: drive

Actually, neither, if you are just going to reinstall it WITHOUT FORMATTING THE C: DRIVE.

But formatting the disk always helps give you the cleanest install possible, so I say backup important files on C: and enjoy Black Tuesday

if you have at least CDROM with SP1 you can have the option to restore your XP without loose your program and data..
dont know the UK names of the choice, in french is "Mise a niveau"
traducted is "levelling"

that option restore ariginal XP files system to original install, is the reason why you need to make again all your updates from the start..

when finish to restore your XP go to windows updates to get all new updates..
